Dtection Products Detect AND Respond to Water Problems

Sounding a local alarm when a water disaster is occurring is only helpful when someone is there to hear it. What if no one is present at the time of the disaster?

The Dtect-100 System is a pro-active water detection system that provides uninterrupted surveillance and sends a call-to-action when a water intrusion event is detected— even if no one is present at the time of the occurrence.

The Dtect-100 System consists of two types of components: Base Stations and Dtectors. Up to 32 Dtectors can be assigned to one Base Station. A Control Center central server provides system back-up and reports.

The following paragraphs describe what happens when a water problem is detected.

The Dtect-100 System initiates calls-to-action . . .

When water is detected,

  • The Dtector sounds a local alarm.
  • The Dtector sends a wireless signal to the Base Station.
  • The Base Station initiates up to nine user-defined phone calls initiating calls-to-action to resolve the water intrusion event.
  • The Base Station notifies the Control Center's central server of the problem which initiates additional back-up and documentation actions.

The Control Center Provides Important Backup . . .

The Control Center's central server then does the following:

  • Decodes the Base Station’s phone message and determines the Type of alarm, The ID of the calling Base Station, and the ID of Its detector/transmitter, etc.
  • Correlates Base Station’s information with its own central database of customer information.
  • Sends up to 25 emails and text messages to customer-defined recipients as additional calls-to-action.
  • Provides detailed information about when and where the problem occurred.
  • Documents the incident by date and time.
  • Tracks the time it takes for help to arrive.
  • Archives all incidents for later analysis and reporting.
  • Requests re-send information from the Base Station if an error was detected in the transmission.

In addition, the Control Center checks and reports on the health of every Base Station and its Dtectors on a periodic basis. This insures healthy operation 24/7. It gives a real-time picture of events in progress. It provides analytical reports of water intrusion incidents (location, the time of the incident, time of response, date,and responding parties) so that future problems can be minimized.

With Dtect-100 installations backed by Dtection's Central Control Computer, it is virtually impossible for a problem to go without a response.
